  2. a  collection  of  essays  which   originally
  3. appeared   in  the  New  York  press  between
  4. October 1787  and  May  1788.   These essays,
  5. known as The Federalist Papers, were  written
  6. by  Alexander  Hamilton,  John Jay, and James
  7. Madison in support  of  the new Constitution.
  8. This is a great program for anyone interested
  9. in  the  U.S. Constitution  or  its  history.
